PROJECT

The Class 40 has been created in 2004 to close the gap between Mini 650 and IMOCA 60. Reducing the cost of the vessels by limiting the material choices and replacing canting keel systems for water ballast provided a fast and steady grow, being now one of the fastest growing ocean racing classes around the world!

GYD has created a perfect racer; very powerful waterlines are combined with its highly refined appendages, a perfect matching sail plan and its spacious and carefully designed cockpit and deck layout are the perfect match for the most demanding sailors.

CONSTRUCTION

This C40 is to be built according to the latest class rules, composite sandwich hull and deck by combining e-galss fibers and epoxy resins.
